What might the glory of the Lord look like? The world just got a glimpse of only a tiny portion of his awesome power in creation in the magnificent display of such intense aurora that even low latitude locations, like East Tennessee, got the show of a lifetime. We merely want to share the photos and a cartoon related to it that we never thought would be applicable again: East Tennessee Aurora. For the SECOND time!!!!!!
- At first we noticed only a dim brightening on the northern sky.
- Cameras captured more color confirming it was worth the trouble to lose some sleep over this chance. Here the sky glows over Mater Dei House.
- As we watched the crescent moon set, colors could be seen with the naked eye.
- Not as spectacular as the camera but still breathtaking!
- What we thought was going to just be a little green glow low on the northern horizon outdid our wildest dreams.
- Pillars of light dancing in the Tennessee sky!
- Fingers of light reaching down from straight above us.
- Simply amazing.
- A 30 second exposure past 10 pm, like daylight with a greenish red sky.
- Watermelon colors over Mater Dei.
- Fingers of God.
- Moonset.
- Moonset.
- Happy nuns capturing auroras by camera.
- Brilliant pinks, reds, and greens!
- Just plain WOW!
- By the time we returned to Cor Jesu we realized it was not even necessary to be in total darkness to see the aurora is all directions.
