Guided By The Spirit: A Handmaid Goes Home On Pentecost

A HandmaidNews

A Joyful Handmaid, Sister Mary Magdalen of the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus, sings for her Spouse during a Corpus Christi Procession in 2011.

Much to our surprise, the Holy Spirit orchestrated a beautiful gift for our Handmaid family by calling his Bride, Sister Mary Magdalen of the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus, to his side at last on Pentecost Sunday. With two Sisters praying by her side, “Eucharistic Heart of Jesus, I love you!” in her hearing, she peacefully breathed her last.

We thank all her kind and gentle caregivers, nurses, doctors, and all the staff and especially the priests who made extra efforts to see she got the Sacraments, the Anointing of the Sick and Holy Viaticum as well as blessing her after her death. She embodied our Founder’s counsel to practice gratitude for everything at all times and other than short prayers, among her last words were, “Thank you” for every service anyone rendered her. That, in itself, is a prayer.
