The Handmaids of the Precious Blood are a cloistered contemplative community of pontifical status, founded on Pentecost Sunday, May 25, 1947, by Father Gerald M.C. Fitzgerald, s.P. Their life is dedicated to the sanctification of priests and centered on Jesus Christ truly present in the Eucharist. Their motto is “Pro Christo In Sacerdote Suo — For Christ In His Priest.”
