It shouldn’t be too surprising that among the names of priests in the Mary, Mother of Priests Garden are some Popes and Cardinals as well as Bishops. As we dug into the red soil of East Tennessee to plant the first post, we knew we would be including the name of the prelate who helped begin our journey to Tennessee from New Mexico.
Then Archbishop Burke, at a meeting with then Mother Marietta at our Priory in Lake Villa, IL, strongly urged us to consider moving our Motherhouse. After a great deal of prayer and several miracles we found ourselves here in New Market and were inspired to create the Garden to pay tribute to priests, living and deceased, near and far and invite the public to do the same.
