Each milestone forward in the formation of a soul in the religious life is marked by an external change, however small. In our Institute the period of Aspirancy is notable for its commending the discerning candidate into the arms of Mary and this is seen in the light blue kerchief and the blue Miraculous Medal worn around the neck. But with Postulancy the colors change from blue to black signifying a deeper separation from the world and a further walk deeper into the cloister as it were.
Our Aspirant Sarah entered the Postulancy with a special consecration to our Lady under the title of Mary, Mother of Priests whose medal she will now wear as a reminder of our particular mission in the Church. The simple ceremony, conducted prior to Mass, places her again in the Blessed Mother’s protection as she learns the life of prayer, sacrifice, and adoration for Christ in His Priest.
- A simple ceremony marks this milestone but is beautiful nonetheless.
