We pause briefly amid the hustle and bustle of repairs and renovations during our settlement period before we move too far forward in our monastery building plans to share with you some photos of visits and vistas we have been enjoying.
Recently our dear Bishop Stika came with his niece Maggie while she was visiting him on break from college. Our Handmaid Sisters living in Englewood were able to spend a day in New Market sharing the day in prayer and re-creation and they are looking forward to joining us. We were also blessed to give our first tour of the property to Sister Mary Charles, RSM, the Delegate for Religious for the Diocese. As the Religious Sisters of Mercy build their convent in Knoxville, they have our empathetic prayers for peaceful progress and we are grateful for their prayers for us.
As we settle in, we rejoice to find what is becoming a regular sight once again: Handmaids assembling in Chapel for Adoration, the Divine Office, and Mass as well as in the Oratory for Nocturnal Adoration. The surrounding vistas spoil us with beautiful sunrises and sunsets and fog shrouded rivers beneath us. Whether we gaze upon the Monstrance or take in the multicolored sunsets, we are left breathless in gratitude.
