There are fads that come and go in mankind`s seemingly endless quest to find happiness in almost anything and anyone so long as it is not God. Keeping God and the goal of being with him forever in eternity does not require any complicated methods. As it is the month of October, dedicated to the Rosary, it is a good time to recommend this simple and very effective prayer that helps us build the practice of filling our minds with Jesus. While the repetition of the prayers along the rosary beads may sound boring initially, it helps train the body and the mind. The fingers and mouth participate as the mind learns to linger with each mystery. Soon enough ten beads are transformed into ten steps side by side with Mary leading us to her Son. We pray everyone will enjoy a safe, holy, healthy Independence Day holiday weekend. May we never forget our freedoms come at a great price, the sacrifices of many who helped found, build, and defend our nation. But a higher price still is what we will have to pay for abusing those hard earned freedoms. Include prayers of thanksgiving, as well as acts of reparation, this year. It is our express mission in the Church to sacrifice and pray for priests, especially their sanctification and we do this through Eucharistic adoration. This week you notice there are no nuns in the cartoon. Just a priest kneeling in Chapel with his breviary at a prie-dieu. A little halo pops up and he thanks God for the help he knows he`s receiving from the prayers of those invisible nuns. Only in eternity will each soul see all the prayers, sacrifices, and efforts that sustained it through all the trials of life. We all want to get to Heaven, but we also want to bring others with us. We encourage others to do the same. Pray for your priests. Let them know you are praying for them. And thank them for praying for you! #sisterreginacomicstrip ...

When we meet priests from persecuted areas, it gives us greater impetus to not just pray for them and their safety, but to strive to live our charism by sacrificing for their physical and spiritual welfare and those whom they serve in the Church. While it is no longer outside the pale of American imagination, we really can`t claim to live under oppression and persecution yet. But many Christians and Catholics around the world already do live under active harassment, discrimination, and oppression. And priests, especially those in a position to help people under persecution, are always going to be targets. Anyone who strengthens those that want the freedom to fully live out their faith in all aspects of their lives is going to be unwelcome by ungodly regimes. So, let us pray for priests everywhere, particularly those whose simple status of priesthood marks them as enemies of the powers that be and thus in real danger for their safety and their lives. Like Christ, many priests are willing to lay down their lives for their flocks. We can offer up our lives for them, transforming any of our small trials into grace for those in need by uniting them to Our Lord in his Passion. #sisterreginacomicstrip ...

You’ve probably seen or heard about Catholics filing into a movie theater and genuflecting at their row of seats. In monasteries, nuns can also get into a routine of picking up visual or physical cues and moving accordingly before realizing what we’re doing. Standing and bowing at the end of chanting a psalm is usually done together. But not always. A sudden move or sound can set off the entire Chapel in a sort of religious wave of standing, bending, and bowing bodies until we can get back in sync.
