Our formation group supplied the community with turkeys. Actually, very generous benefactors provided turkeys and trimmings and the formation group provided cookie turkeys made out of oreos and candy corn. A pear was also sacrificed to look like a turkey in full strut amid a fruit platter. Thank you once again to all who helped make Thanksgiving happen at Cor Jesu Monastery!
- A festive table. Only artificial squirrels were welcome.
- We were surprised to experience how difficult it is to find Candy Corn after Halloween.
- A small assembly line. Manual creation of “double stuffed”, insertion of tail feathers (candy corn), application of butterscotch drop for a peak and dotting the eyes.
- Messy but worth the work! A good hint: Use double stuffed oreos.
- Our Novice displays an eyeless turkey cookie. Our Postulant works on tail feathers and eyes.
- Filling up the give away trays.
- A rafter of cookie turkeys to celebrate Thanksgiving for the sweet of tooth.
- Our pear turkey tries to rival a peacock in plumage.
