As summer draws to a close we can all spend some time this September deepening our devotion to Our Mother of Sorrows. Mary isn’t just a sorrowful mother. She is our mother. And through the suffering and sorrows she endured in union with her Son Jesus, she shows us how to transform our sorrows, even the ones that don’t go away, into the deepest joy. This can only be done at the foot of the Cross. How appropriate then that both the Exaltation of the Cross and the Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows occur so closely in this month’s liturgical calendar. We invite you to join us in praying a devotion to the Seven Sorrows of Our Blessed Mother.
Visit our Web Devotions Page to pray with us the Rosary of Our Sorrowful Mother. This is comprised of images of the ceramic tile reliefs of the Seven Sorrows of Mary with accompanying reflections as given by our Founder, Father Gerald, s.P. to his Handmaids on November 7th, 1948. The ceramic tiles just arrived this week with the last Portable On Demand Storage unit (PODS) holding the very last items to move here from our original motherhouse in New Mexico. They hung in the Statio (Station) hall outside our main Chapel.
