Once again we are privileged to host the Silver Rose on its pilgrimage to Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico. The Rose will be staying overnight this week at Cor Jesu Monastery as some parishes in the Diocese of Knoxville also gather in prayer around the Rose as it makes it journey from Canada, through the United States, and finally to Mexico. With each stop, the prayers of thousands of men and women will accompany it. We thank the Knights of Columbus for again sponsoring this and allowing us to partake even within our papal enclosure. As in 2017, it will spend the night near an image of Our Lady of Guadalupe next to Our Lord exposed in the monstrance. As the slender and delicate silver crafted rose moves along to the next parish, it goes with our many prayers, especially for the Hispanic community so devoted to Our Lady. We ask her to intercede for our Church, our nation and our world so desperately in need of her motherly comfort and care.
