Mom and Bambi Deer

A Handmaid News

Just an update on the latest addition to the deer family here. Mom and Bambi the fawn still come around to graze though Bambi’s spots are fading. Recently, other young adults, perhaps the doe’s twins from a few years ago, also frequent our clover. We are always happy to see them….especially if they are down at Cor Jesu rather than feasting on delicacies in the gardens at Mater Dei. Mom Doe has learned that upside flower pots protecting fragile transplants usually signal something very very tasty.

We wonder sometimes if they share intelligence data gathered by the squirrels. “All creatures great and small, the Lord God made them all.”
